Congress Submissions

The Scientific Program Committee invites the submission of symposia and abstracts for consideration for the Congress Program.

Call for symposia proposal 1 December 2023
Deadline for symposia proposal 1 February 2024
Abstracts submission open 1 March 2024
Abstracts submission deadline 1 May 2024
Symposia proposal author notifications 2 April 2024
Abstract submission author notifications 15 June 2024

General Policies and Requirements
  • The presenting author will be required to register for the Congress to ensure their submission(s) is included in the final program. The deadline for presenting author registration is 1 July 2024.
  • All submissions must be completed electronically via the online submission facility. If you are unable to submit in this manner, please contact the Congress Managers at isbra2024@arinexgroup.com for further information.
  • All abstracts must be prepared according to the guidelines provided. Submissions will only be accepted if submitted within the format and layout guidelines.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts that may be submitted by an individual. However, splitting of a body of work into multiple abstracts is discouraged and consolidation into one abstract is preferred.
  • Authors are required to acknowledge that by submitting an abstract and/or symposia, permission is automatically given for the symposia (if approved) to be made available on the website and via the app, and possibly published more broadly.
Symposia Proposal Guidelines

Please carefully read the following guidelines to ensure that you have submitted your symposia proposal correctly:

  • The symposia summary must not exceed a 300-word limit. The word limit relates only to the text of the summary of the symposium and does not include title, authors and institutions.
  • No tables, figures or images are allowed.
  • Proposals must be free of typographical and grammatical errors.
  • Standard abbreviations may be used for common terms only. Otherwise, any abbreviation should be given in brackets after the first full use of the word. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
  • You will be asked to provide a divesity statement (up to 200 words) with your submission. Here, you will need describe how the composition of speakers demonstrates a commitment to diverse and inclusive participation 
  • Please include degrees or professional titles (e.g. Dr, Prof., etc).
  • You will be required to provide the names, affiliations, role, emails and country of all proposed speakers and chair(s)/discussant in the symposia proposal submission. Maximum 4 speakers.
  • It is the author’s responsibility to ensure the title, author and affiliation details entered for all speakers and chair(s)/or discussant in the paper submission site are correct and exactly as they should be published on the Symposia and all Congress materials.
Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • You will be required to provide the names, affiliations and emails of all co-authors of the abstract.
  • It is the author’s responsibility to ensure the title, author and affiliation details entered in the paper submission site are correct and exactly as they should be published on the abstract and all Congress materials.

The Congress program will be accepting submissions under the following themes:

  • The first 1,000 days of life (including FASD)
  • Epidemiology, public health and prevention
  • Neuroscience and pharmacology
  • Organ damage
  • Treatment
  • The addictive disorders spectrum
