Welcome to the 3rd World Congress on Alcohol and Addictions
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, we invite you to the 3rd World Congress on Alcohol and Addictions. This will be the 22nd Congress of the International Society for Biomedical Research on Alcoholism (ISBRA) and will be co-hosted by the Asia-Pacific Society for Alcohol and Addiction Research (APSAAR).
The Congress will be held in Melbourne from September 23 to 26, 2024. Melbourne is a city of 5 million people, with the reputation of being the business, cultural, and gastronomic capital of Australia and one of the world’s most liveable cities.
The Congress will be scientifically compelling and multidisciplinary, building on the high standards of the past. The program is being developed with the International Scientific Advisory Committee, and will comprise plenary lectures by international experts, and parallel streams of symposia proposed by ISBRA and APSAAR members and conference delegates, together with roundtable discussions, oral papers and posters.
We hope you will consider Australia as an attractive destination to visit and combine your attendance at the ISBRA-APSAAR 2024 Congress with a welcome break. Australia is a beautiful and attractive country offering a huge range of vacation experiences. These include 20 World Heritage-listed sites. Attractions include the unique indigenous culture, historical sites, superb sandy beaches, surfing and other water sport activities, hiking, and iconic modern architecture. It is a safe and well-connected country. Melbourne has direct flights from over 60 airports worldwide and multiple daily flights to other destinations throughout Australia.
We look forward to working with you as participants, speakers, symposium organisers, fellow researchers, and clinicians to make the 2024 World Congress on Alcohol a resounding success and one that you will remember and benefit from for many years in the future.
